Robert Dante Siboldi Tigres return, Digi Mart USA News: Robert Dante Siboldi has again placed Tigres at the center of attention, this time with a stance that may surprise many fans. The Uruguayan coach, the last to lead the club to a Liga MX championship, said he would be willing to return to the bench if the club needed his services.

The statement comes at a particularly difficult moment for the club. Tigres was eliminated from the Apertura 2026 after losing 3-0 to Pachuca, ending a streak of 12 consecutive years qualifying for the Final Phase.

Amid the crisis, Siboldi made clear that his bond with the institution remains intact, despite strong criticism he has directed at the current leadership.

Siboldi’s tenure at Tigres ended after the Clausura 2024, following a series of disagreements and controversies that led to a rupture with the previous leadership. His departure was notable because he had won the club’s most recent championship.

In the Clausura 2023 he took over the team at a difficult time and went on to lift the title, and later reached the Apertura 2023 Final.

Months later, the coach publicly questioned some of the institution’s decisions and criticized the way key figures were removed from the club. In September 2026, for example, he commented on the current leadership.

However, his criticism does not mean he has permanently closed the door. Asked about a possible return, Siboldi was emphatic.

Tigres’ current situation contrasts sharply with the prominence the club enjoyed for more than a decade. The loss to Pachuca in Matchday 15 confirmed the team’s mathematical elimination from the tournament.

Tigres finished with 15 points, while Santos reached 22 and secured an advantage Tigres cannot overcome with only two matchdays remaining.

Víctor Manuel Vucetich, who currently serves as coach and sporting vice president, acknowledged that the squad will need to be analyzed and renewed ahead of the Clausura 2027. For now, Tigres still has two home matches to play: against Cruz Azul and then against América.

The priority will be to close the tournament with dignity and give minutes to pending youth players.

Although there is no confirmation that Tigres is negotiating Siboldi’s return, his statements keep open a possibility that seemed unlikely only months ago. If the sporting project changes for the Clausura 2027, the club’s last champion-winning coach could again be among the options.
