Guillermo Ochoa retirement street soccer with young fans, Digi Mart USA News (location not specified in source): Former Mexico national team goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has shown he has not lost his touch, returning to the pitch for a game of informal street soccer with a group of children. He shared the moment through a temporary Instagram story in which he was seen in goal on what appears to be a local asphalt field in an unidentified location.
According to the report, Ochoa, a legendary goalkeeper for Club América in Liga MX, even saved a penalty kick from one of the young players, catching the ball cleanly with both hands. The child had no reason to feel embarrassed, the article notes, since he faced the same goalkeeper who saved a penalty from Poland striker Robert Lewandowski at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The publisher notes that Ochoa’s penalty-saving record also includes shooters from Brazil, Portugal and Costa Rica, as well as players from Liga MX and European leagues, most notably France’s Ligue 1. The report is a single publisher account and has not been independently verified.
Ochoa’s last match was the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he came on as a substitute for Raúl “el Tala” Rangel in Mexico’s third group-stage game against the Czech Republic, a 3-0 win for the Tricolor. Since then, the report says, he has enjoyed his retirement, including tributes at Estadio Banorte from América supporters, speaking engagements about his career, and vacations with his wife, Karla Mora.
