The most notable change is the withdrawal of midfielder Maycon, a regular starter and standout performer this season. The No. 8 felt an injury hours before kickoff and will be replaced by Ecuadorian Alan Franco, who normally plays at right-back.

As a result, Natanael enters the side to strengthen the defensive line.

Lyanco was left out of the squad entirely, not even named among the substitutes.

Atlético will take the field with Everson; Natanael, Vitão, Vitor Hugo and Renan Lodi; Castaño, Alan Franco, Igor Gomes and Bernard; Cuello and Alan Minda. Grêmio, coached by Renato Gaúcho, will line up with Weverton; Balbuena, Wallace and Kannemann; João Pedro, Villasanti, Noriega and Marlon; Enamorado, Amuzu and Carlos Vinícius.

The first leg ended with a 2-0 Grêmio victory at Arena do Grêmio in Porto Alegre on Sunday, November 1. Atlético therefore needs to win by two goals to send the tie to a penalty shootout.

Only a win by three or more goals would qualify the club directly for the Copa do Brasil final.
