Puente Rizo de Oro inauguration in La Concordia, Chiapas, Digi Mart USA News (Chiapas, Mexico): Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum inaugurated the Puente Rizo de Oro on the Chicomuselo-La Concordia federal highway in Chiapas, at kilometer 47+500 over the reservoir of La Angostura Dam. The project carries a total investment of 2,308 million pesos.

Of that total, more than 1,086 million pesos, nearly half, has been spent under the current administration. Sheinbaum cut the ribbon on the bridge, which reduces the state travel time from six hours to four and eliminates the boat crossing, known as the chalana, that was previously used to cross the reservoir.

The bridge is part of the federal highway and is described as a strategic project for regional connectivity. Officials say it is intended to improve mobility and communication among communities in the area.

The new bridge is expected to benefit 300,000 residents across 10 municipalities in this region of Chiapas, located less than 500 kilometers from the border with Guatemala. The infrastructure aims to improve connectivity and shorten travel times between local communities.

The inauguration is part of federal government efforts to improve road infrastructure in Chiapas and strengthen connectivity in the border region.
