Knicks at Cavaliers game preview November 7, 2026, Digi Mart USA News (Cleveland, Ohio): The Cleveland Cavaliers joined the NBA in 1970 and have a history that extends well beyond LeBron James, who led the franchise to a title after returning to town. Earlier teams featuring Mark Price, Ron Harper, Brad Daugherty and Craig Ehlo are also remembered fondly in Cleveland.
The Cavaliers face familiar opponents this season. Their core is largely unchanged from last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, a sweep by the Knicks.
Donovan Mitchell remains the headliner, averaging 22.5 points per game on an efficient scoring pace, though some fans have criticized his shot selection and his $273 million contract signed in the summer.
James Harden, now 37, runs the point for Cleveland but is shooting 38 percent from the field early in the season. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen continue to anchor the frontline, with Mobley showing a improved outside jumper and Allen providing size and athleticism.
Cleveland has made changes to its supporting cast, adding Peyton Watson from Denver, Meleek Thomas from the second round of the NBA Draft and Hezonja. Sam Merril and Jaylon Tyson return from last season.
At 5-4, the Cavaliers rank 9th in offensive rating and 14th in defensive rating, with a steady but unspectacular pace.
The Cavaliers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 119-95 in NBA Cup play on Friday. The Knicks (4-4) meet Cleveland (5-4) at Rocket Arena on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 8:00 PM ET.
The game will be televised on MSG and NBATV.
