Mt. Lebanon Parking Garage Deaths of Two Children and Father, Allegheny County Pennsylvania, Digi Mart USA News (Mt. Lebanon, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania): The father of two children found dead with him near a Pennsylvania parking garage had been “depressed” after being laid off, the children’s mother said.

Caroline Lynch, 6, and her brother James Lynch, 8, were found Tuesday in the street near a five-story parking garage in Mt. Lebanon alongside their father, Patrick Lynch, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The Allegheny County Police Department described the incident as “an apparent fall.” All three later died, and police are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.

Patrick Lynch allegedly threw the children from the garage, PennLive reported. Anna DeMase Lynch wrote on Facebook after their deaths that her husband “made the irreversible decision to kill our two children and himself this evening.”

In a screenshot of the post shared by KDKA-AM radio host Marty Griffin, she described Patrick as “a wonderful dad” who had been struggling with depression after losing his job in August. “I suggested he go to a therapist, which he agreed to go to and had an appointment booked for 11/4.

One day too late,” she wrote. “Please check in on your loved ones.

I never thought this is how our story would end.”

A family friend’s GoFundMe had raised $209,672 toward its $250,000 goal as of Friday. “[N]othing I write here will bring her babies back and give her any sense of justice or peace,” the organizers wrote.

“If we, her family and friends, can ease the financial burden of having to bury her children and her husband, it would be a relief.”

In a 2024 Facebook fundraiser, Anna Lynch spoke about her daughter’s diagnosis with the rare genetic disorder Williams syndrome. “We extend our deepest condolences to Anna Lynch, mother and wife, and to everyone affected by this devastating event,” the Williams Syndrome Association said in a statement.

“We know this is painful news to share with our community.”
