Adriana Karembeu early struggles in Paris, Digi Mart USA News (Paris, France): Adriana Karembeu, the partner of French singer Marc Lavoine, has spoken publicly about the difficult start of her life in Paris. The report comes as Lavoine released his new album, Chères amies, chers amis, on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
Lavoine said the album includes sixteen duets with artists such as Louane, Kendji Girac, Clara Luciani, Barbara Pravi and Bernard Lavilliers, but none with Karembeu. He told Ciné Télé Revue that each of them has their own work and life, and that this arrangement suits them.
Karembeu has her own career, separate from the recording studio. She began in modeling when she arrived in Paris.
In a July 2023 interview on the Femmes Actuelles podcast with Marie-Amélie Druesne, she described that period as especially hard, saying she was 23 and had to find her footing in a new environment.
She said she had “not a penny” and, feeling too intimidated to ask for help, refused to request money from her father because she would have had to pay it back. For about a week, or even ten days, she said she ate nothing, until a roommate who had saved money bought a large jar of Nutella.
The two rationed it, eating a spoonful or two each evening.
Karembeu eventually asked her modeling agency for help. After explaining her situation, she received an advance on her first earnings, which allowed her to get by until she settled in the capital.
Since then, the report says, her career has taken a very different path, and she has become a familiar face on television.
