Hobro IK vs Esbjerg fB, Digi Mart USA News (Hobro, Denmark): Hobro IK meets Esbjerg fB in an afternoon 1. division match at DS Arena, with an exciting contest expected.
Following a strong performance and a 1-1 draw with AaB in Aalborg, Hobro is chasing three points in front of its home crowd.
Hobro earlier in the season won 2-1 in Esbjerg, and with support from the stands the team hopes to repeat that success. The most recent match was a local northern Jutland derby against AaB, which ended 1-1 at Aalborg Portland Park.
Hobro showed fight and determination for long stretches, and the team was not intimidated by the atmosphere the venue typically brings.
Although the team did not take three points, there were several positives from Aalborg. Among them was the return of Oliver Klitten, who had been sorely missed.
The focus now is on building on that performance when Esbjerg visits DS Arena on Saturday.
With backing from the stands, the players aim to set the tone from the first whistle and pressure an Esbjerg side that is finding its footing under a new coach after a difficult start to the season. Esbjerg includes two former Hobro players, Muamer Brajanac and Gustav Bjerge, who are welcomed back.
There is also a measure of revenge at stake for the visitors. Earlier this season, Hobro won 2-1 in Esbjerg, with Oliver Dorph and Oscar Meedom scoring two strong goals to bring three points home.
The players are hungry for a win, and energy, fight and unity will be needed if the three points are to stay in Hobro. Good luck to the team.
