World of Warcraft Forever’s First Level 60 Character Reaches Cap Three Days After Launch

World of Warcraft Forever first level 60 character: Team JokerD, led by streamer JokerD, became the first to reach the level cap, three days after the game launched. The team was made up of Undead characters and one Troll, with the Undead race's Cannibalize ability helping speed progress through large mob pulls.

World of Warcraft Forever first level 60 character, Digi Mart USA News: World of Warcraft Forever is designed around taking your time and exploring the world rather than rushing to the endgame. Despite that emphasis, a player has already reached level 60.

Team JokerD, led by the streamer of the same name, was the first team of characters to reach level 60. The team was made up entirely of Undead characters and one Troll.

The Undead race was important because Blizzard changed the Cannibalize ability to help characters regenerate mana, which meant there was little to no downtime between massive pulls. The publisher’s reporter watched the streams of these speedrunners, who gathered entire groups of mobs to clear them with area-of-effect abilities.

JokerD was also the world’s first level 60 player when World of Warcraft Classic launched in 2019, so the team’s early lead was not surprising. There was plenty of competition, but JokerD’s team stayed well ahead throughout the race.

At the time of writing, the second-place character outside JokerD’s team, Ksuper Worldfirst, was still level 53.

Reaching the level cap early offers little reason to rush to endgame right now. The first raids, Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia’s Lair, do not open until December 9, so players who hit the cap this weekend may struggle to find their next goal.

In an interview, WoW Forever principal game designer Kris Zierhut made clear that Blizzard intends players to level multiple characters and that leveling is a major part of the game. Players who reach level 60 very early and run out of content before raids open may want to start another character and take a different path to the cap.

WoW Forever also had an extremely smooth launch and was largely free of major server problems. Blizzard later said the game was running on more than 200TB of RAM, which the publisher noted would have been concerning had the servers buckled under login traffic.
