Cold front 4 and its air mass will extend over the eastern part of the country and interact with a trough in the Northeast. This combination is expected to bring intense rainfall of 75 to 100 mm in northeastern Coahuila, northern Nuevo León and northwestern Tamaulipas, as well as strong rain in San Luis Potosí and northern Veracruz.
The Northwest is forecast to see very heavy rainfall of 50 to 75 mm in central and northeastern Chihuahua, accompanied by strong rain in Sonora and Sinaloa and moderate rain in Baja California Sur. This is linked to cyclonic circulation and a mid- and upper-level trough combined with the subtropical jet stream.
The Southeast and the Yucatán Peninsula are expected to experience strong to very heavy rain due to a trough and constant moisture inflow from the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.
