Conviasa suspends Mexico and Cuba flights, Digi Mart USA News (Caracas, Venezuela): Venezuela’s state-owned airline Conviasa stopped operating its regular route between Caracas and the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) in Mexico on October 27, 2026. According to unofficial information and aviation sector sources, the suspension is due to high operating and maintenance costs for its four-engine Airbus A340 aircraft, along with low passenger volume.

The airline described the move as a temporary pause or restructuring to evaluate the economic viability of the route. The decision coincides with the suspension or temporary halt of Conviasa’s international flights to Havana, Cuba.

Following the closure of these foreign routes, the Havana service is now handled mainly by other carriers, including the Venezuelan airline Rutaca, which operates from Valencia Airport in Carabobo state. Conviasa will now focus its operations on the domestic market, strengthening internal flights from Maiquetía to its various destinations in Venezuela.
