Antoine Griezmann France national team media silence: Antoine Griezmann and France national team media silence: Pierre Ménès criticizes the former Les Bleus forward's refusal to speak to French media since leaving the national team and his move to Major League Soccer, comparing it to Karim Benzema's remarks about the truth.

Antoine Griezmann France national team media silence, Digi Mart USA News: On September 30, 2024, Antoine Griezmann announced the end of his story with the French national team. Amid resentment and without giving a real explanation for his decision, the 2018 World Cup champion chose to close a major chapter of his career.

Now playing in Major League Soccer (MLS) after leaving France this summer, the native of Mâcon refuses to speak with French media. The choice has drawn attention and irritated some observers.

On his YouTube channel, Pierre Ménès was asked about the subject by one of his followers. He first gave his assessment.

“I saw this clip on Téléfoot. I was not surprised.

In France we stick labels on people. And for a very long time, Antoine Griezmann was everyone’s favorite.

Maybe because he was white too, and because he was discreet, with an exceptional physique, many things worked in his favor.”

The former Canal+ commentator nonetheless questioned the attitude. “It’s true that I can’t explain why he has a grudge against the French press, because I don’t at all have the impression that it has taken sides against him in everything that has happened.” More pointedly, Ménès returned to Griezmann’s departure.

“Nothing justifies the way he left Les Bleus, deliberately refusing any form of tribute from the Federation and cultivating a form of resentment.”

The observer then drew a link with another former France player. “After (Karim) Benzema, here’s another one who says ‘one day you will know the truth.’ Yes, but when, guys?

At some point, if you don’t want to inform people, don’t complain that nonsense gets told.”

Ménès concluded: “Overall, I find it a bit disappointing on his part. It also shows that the image we project is not necessarily always the image that matches who you really are.”
