Mexico automotive manufacturing ranking and production output: Mexico Automotive Manufacturing: Mexico holds seventh place in global vehicle production with about 10,900 units per day, according to OICA data analyzed through October 2026, while its auto parts industry grew 8.8% in the first seven months of the year.

Mexico automotive manufacturing and production output, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Mexico has strengthened its position among the leading powers of the global automotive industry, ranking seventh in vehicle production with an average of 10,900 units per day. That figure is higher than the output reported by countries such as Spain, Brazil and France.

According to statistics from the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), analyzed at the close of October 2026, Mexico remains among the economies with the greatest automotive manufacturing capacity. The country’s industrial infrastructure, supply chains and participation in international markets are cited as key factors.

China leads the global ranking with approximately 82,000 vehicles per day, followed by the United States with 29,000, Japan with 17,800, India with 16,100, South Korea with 11,600 and Germany with 11,200 units. Mexico holds seventh place with 10,900 vehicles produced daily.

Below it are Spain with 6,700 units, Brazil with 6,000 and France with 5,100.

One factor behind Mexico’s strength in this sector is the growth of the auto parts industry, which is considered a strategic component of vehicle production and assembly chains. The National Auto Parts Industry (INA) reported that between January and July 2026, the manufacture of automotive components reached a value of $74.683 billion, an annual increase of 8.8%.

This performance also keeps Mexico as the main supplier of auto parts to the United States, reinforcing its role within regional supply and manufacturing chains. The economic importance of the activity is reflected in its contribution of 21.6% to manufacturing gross domestic product, according to figures from the Mexican Automotive Industry Association (AMIA).

The sector also generates about one million direct jobs and 3.5 million indirect jobs.

National production capacity is supported by substantial industrial infrastructure. According to the AMIA directory, Mexico has 36 plants operated by affiliated companies: 19 dedicated to vehicle assembly, 10 to engine manufacturing and seven to transmission production.

These facilities are distributed across different states and form part of an industrial network that supplies both the domestic market and major export destinations.

Among examples of the industry’s development is the Kia plant in the municipality of Pesquería, Nuevo León, where the K3 and K4 models and the EV3 electric vehicle are manufactured.
