Numéro Un 50th anniversary special on France 3, Digi Mart USA News (France): The second episode of the trilogy devoted to Maritie and Gilbert Carpentier and their legendary show “Numéro Un” will be broadcast on france.tv and France 3 on Friday, November 20, in partnership with ICI. The first broadcast drew 2.30 million viewers.

From 1975 to 1982, the production duo Maritie and Gilbert Carpentier offered a show described as the most beautiful and magical of its time. Every Saturday evening, it was like Broadway on television.

Each program imagined sets, costumes and ballets around the talents of the era, along with their trademark duets and sometimes trios.

To mark the 50th anniversary, some of the greatest artists who performed on “Numéro Un” return to perform their hits from the 1970s and 1980s alongside a new generation. The event features new duets created specifically for the occasion.

Participants include Enrico Macias, Kad Merad, Michèle Laroque, Jenifer, Gauvain Sers, Magali Ripoll, Laurent Gerra, Léa Deleau and Even, with an interview with director André Flédérick. As a surprise, Jaïro, who appeared on the Carpentier show nearly 50 years ago on French television, will perform on stage after returning from Argentina.

The broadcast also includes archive footage showcasing the “Golden Age of Variety” and its leading figures, including Nana Mouskouri, Gérard Lenorman, Eddy Mitchell, Marie-Paule Belle, Nicole Croisille, Gilbert Bécaud, Daniel Guichard, Serge Reggiani, Renaud, Dalida, Johnny Hallyday, Sylvie Vartan, Claude François, France Gall, Michel Berger and Thierry Le Luron.
