V. Guimarães vs FC Porto match preview, Digi Mart USA News: Ahead of the Primeira Liga clash, Vitória de Guimarães coach Luís Pinto expressed confidence in his squad. He said the group feels good and happy, and that despite a week with limited training time, the players were able to take two days off, which the team had not had for some time.
Pinto said the break helped the players recover mentally and that they are motivated and prepared for what he described as a very interesting challenge. The Guimarães coach emphasized that the team feels ready to face FC Porto.
FC Porto coach Francesco Farioli acknowledged the difficulty of the fixture. He said that playing away is always hard, especially at Guimarães, against a well-prepared coach.
He recalled that when Pinto was at Nacional, those were two difficult matches for FC Porto.
Farioli noted that Guimarães are currently nine points below their expected standing, which he said explains why they are creating many chances. He added that the hosts have speed and power in attack that could be dangerous, and that while they are an associative side, they are able to attack space.
He also said Guimarães have a clear identity about how they want to play.
Farioli acknowledged that playing a match in midweek before this game is challenging, but said FC Porto must have humility and desire to do everything possible to add another win.
The live coverage reported that Samu and Zaidu are set to enter the starting lineup.
