Zamfara State bandit attack on vigilante family, Digi Mart USA News (Gidan Taba village, Dosara Birnin Kaya Ward, Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State, Nigeria): Eleven members of a family were burned to death after suspected armed bandits set their home ablaze in Gidan Taba village, Dosara Birnin Kaya Ward, Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The attack reportedly took place on Saturday night, when the armed group gathered the entire household in one room and set them on fire. Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Zamfara State Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said the attackers carried out the assault at the family’s residence.
According to the report, the victims belonged to the family of Mallam Muhammadu Sani, a member of the local vigilante group. Sani was reportedly targeted because he had denied the bandits freedom to operate in the troubled area, prompting them to attack him and his entire family.
The police spokesperson said operatives were on the trail of the assailants and were working to restore normalcy in the affected village.
