Gefragt – Gejagt, Digi Mart USA News: The ARD quiz show Gefragt – Gejagt celebrated its thousandth episode this year and paid out a considerable sum to its contestants, according to a report by Merkur.de.
Since 2012, the German program has become a audience favorite, combining humor with suspense. Its success is built on a mix of entertainment and dramatic moments, including the recent triple blackout by hunter Sebastian Jacoby (48).
Contestants also look forward to the potential winnings awaiting them at the end of each show. A spokesperson for the ARD programming directorate told Merkur.de, a publication of IPPEN.MEDIA, that the total prize amount for more than 100 episodes this year was around €380,000.
The spokesperson said the prize money is funded from advertising-related revenue rather than broadcasting fees. This comes from commercial income generated around the show, such as the advertising break before the two-minute final chase.
The show currently is on a break and has cleared its 6 p.m. slot for the program Wer weiß denn sowas?.
In a recent episode, Bernhard Hoëcker (56) expressed irritation at Kai Pflaume’s puns and fired back with a jab.
