Berlin-Marzahn missing 13-year-old girl search, Digi Mart USA News (Berlin-Marzahn, Germany): Police are searching for 13-year-old Lisa T., who has been missing from the Berlin-Marzahn district for five days. According to police, she left home at about 7:15 a.m.
on Tuesday morning to travel to school, but never arrived there.
A spokesperson for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office, Michael Petzold, said that there are still indications of a crime. Since Friday, 140 officers, including colleagues from the homicide commission, have been searching for the girl in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district.
Police spokesperson Florian Nath said investigators are searching the girl’s immediate residential surroundings as well as routes she would normally use during her free time and her school day. On Friday, a helicopter flew over the residential area, which features many prefabricated apartment blocks with green spaces in between, and tracking dogs were deployed.
On Tuesday, police published a notice with a photo of the girl and asked the public for information. Nath said that many people have responded, “fortunately,” but that there has not yet been a breakthrough.
On Saturday, officers questioned residents and put up posters. Nath said the search area is very large, with many multi-family buildings, green spaces and parks, making the search time-consuming.
The missing girl’s home is located in a large prefabricated housing area in the northeast of Berlin.
Police are continuing to ask anyone who has seen or heard anything to contact the tip hotline or the email address of the State Criminal Police Office. Lisa T.
is reported to be 1.60 to 1.65 meters tall and slim, and is described as Asian-looking with long dark hair. When last seen, she was wearing a black winter jacket, a gray top, blue jeans and white sneakers.
The case recalls the disappearance of 15-year-old Rebecca from the Britz neighborhood of Berlin’s Neukölln district in February 2019. To this day, neither she nor her body has been found.
Police deployed search teams with hundreds of officers, dogs, helicopters, drones, excavators, boats and divers in Brandenburg, and analyzed phone data and hundreds of tips without success. Police suspect the husband of Rebecca’s sister of killing her, a claim he denies.
