Delta Goodrem rib injury recovery, Digi Mart USA News (United Kingdom): Delta Goodrem appears to have made a full recovery from her recent rib injury, with husband Matthew Copley by her side.
The Australian pop singer, 41, suffered a fractured rib last month while competing on the BBC dancing show Strictly Come Dancing. Goodrem has since shared an update ahead of her television return.
In a video posted to her Instagram stories on Sunday, Goodrem enjoyed a romantic dinner with Copley, captioned simply “home.” “Here, with my beautiful hubby,” she said. The couple, who are living in the UK while she competes in the series, were seen sharing a home-cooked steak dinner with dimmed lights and romantic music.
Goodrem made a triumphant comeback to the show two weeks ago with a Rumba to Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.” She had missed the previous week due to her injury, sharing a tearful video on Instagram at the time. This week, she returned to full form, dancing the cha-cha to Jennifer Lopez’s 1999 hit “Let’s Get Loud.”
Her professional dance partner, Kai Widdrington, praised her hard work. “This girl puts her heart on that dance floor and she works so, so hard, I can’t tell you how hard this girl works,” he said.
Goodrem has been open about the physical and emotional difficulties of the past month. In October, she shared previously unseen footage from hospital visits and MRI appointments taken immediately after her injury.
In one clip recorded from a hospital bed, she said she was praying everything was okay and felt nauseous from the pain. A later clip showed her breaking down as she learned doctors had diagnosed a fractured rib.
“I feel very, very gutted about [it]. Hopefully, I’ll get back next week.
That’s the plan,” she said through tears.
At that time, Goodrem said she had “a long way to go” before she could feel like dancing again. During recovery, she took dance lessons over FaceTime with Widdrington, while Copley stood in as her partner until she was well enough to return to the studio.
She later expressed gratitude for being able to return to the dance floor with help from those around her, including fans.
