Speaking to People on the sidelines of the CFDA Fashion Awards, the 42-year-old said that people now know she is in a relationship and that she is happy. She added that she does not plan to discuss the subject at length in the future.
Vonn had officially confirmed the relationship with Bailet on her Instagram account. The Olympic downhill champion from the 2010 Vancouver Games is typically private about her personal life, but she acknowledged that she has in the past alternated between keeping some things private and revealing perhaps a bit too much.
Vonn drew attention at the Milan-Cortina Olympics in February after a painful fall that was widely seen around the world. She is still recovering, but she intends to return to competition.
The 84-time World Cup race winner is listed on the U.S. alpine skiing team roster announced on October 7, 2026, for the 2026-2027 season.
