Miguel Díaz Reynoso Paisaje de mi alma en la noche, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico City): The creative work of Mexican diplomat and artist Miguel Díaz Reynoso is collected in Paisaje de mi alma en la noche, an art book bringing together drawings and short writings produced over 15 years. The book will be presented on Friday, November 6, at Casa Lamm in Mexico City, according to the publisher’s report.
Published by the Mexican imprint Mixedmedia.press, the book is conceived as an artist’s book. Rather than a linear reading, it offers a fragmented experience, inviting readers to create their own interpretations from several notebooks in different formats.
The edition is limited to 150 copies, a choice the publisher made to preserve the intimate and diverse character of the materials. Banpay Group supported its production.
The presentation will be led by the author and accompanied by two prominent figures in Spanish-language literature: Cuban writer Leonardo Padura and Mexican writer, essayist and editor Alberto Ruy Sánchez. They will share their perspectives on the publication, adding a literary dimension to the event.
Díaz Reynoso, born in Guadalajara in 1952, spent more than three decades in the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, serving as cultural attaché, director general and ambassador. He currently represents Mexico as ambassador to Cuba.
He has also taken part in international forums on climate change, migration and human rights, and has published studies on civil society and foreign policy.
Alongside his diplomatic career, Díaz Reynoso has maintained a steady involvement in the visual arts. He studied with artist José Luis Cuevas in his early years as an illustrator and later worked as a painter and illustrator, with exhibitions in Mexico, Argentina and Cuba.
In 2025 he also made the documentary feature Cuadernos de La Habana, Gilberto Bosques en Cuba, in collaboration with TV UNAM.
Leonardo Padura, born in Havana in 1955, is a journalist, screenwriter and novelist recognized internationally for his narrative work. He received the Princesa de Asturias Award for Literature in 2025, and is known for El hombre que amaba a los perros and the detective series featuring Mario Conde.
Alberto Ruy Sánchez, born in Mexico City in 1951, is a narrator, essayist, poet and editor who has directed the magazine Artes de México since 1988.
The book is published by Mixedmedia.press, founded in 2015 in Mexico City by artist and editor Andrés Gómez Servín. The imprint specializes in contemporary art books and projects, with particular attention to design and production processes.
The event will take place at Casa Lamm, a Porfirian-era mansion in the Roma neighborhood that has served for more than three decades as a venue for cultural, academic and artistic activity in the capital.
The presentation is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Casa Lamm, located at Avenida Álvaro Obregón 99, colonia Roma, Mexico City.
The event is aimed at those interested in an editorial project that brings together art, writing and personal exploration from the perspective of a creator whose career has crossed several areas of culture and public life.
