Bejeweled Brady Garbage Pail Kids Superfractor card, Digi Mart USA News (Jewett City): A recent discovery by two brothers from Jewett City has sparked excitement among sports card collectors. Lucas Martell, 23, and his younger brother Trevor, 18, found a rare “Bejeweled Brady” Garbage Pail Kids Superfractor card while exploring their interest in sports collectibles.

The card is described as a one-of-a-kind item with no other copies in circulation, and it is valued in the hundreds of thousands. The brothers began collecting sports cards just over a month ago, visiting The Treasure Chest of Mystic, a new collectibles store in Olde Mistick Village.

During an earlier visit, they bought mystery autographed jersey boxes and found jerseys signed by football legend Lawrence Taylor and basketball star LaMelo Ball. When they found the Bejeweled Brady card, Lucas and Trevor sought help from store owner Carmine Lorusso with valuation, authentication, insurance and auction negotiations.

The Garbage Pail Kids series was introduced by Topps in 1985 and has become a pop-culture staple. The Bejeweled Brady card features the likeness of seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.

For context, a one-of-a-kind Cooper Flagg Garbage Pail Kids Superfractor sold for $288,000 earlier this year.

Lorusso, working with Clay Thomas of Fanatics Collect, secured a guaranteed advance for Lucas before the auction. The agreement includes a minimum assessed value of at least $150,000.

Thomas is set to transport the card to Texas for professional grading by Beckett Grading Services before it is placed in a vault ahead of auction.

Under Lucas’s agreement, he will receive 115% of the final winning bid, which includes a portion of the auction house’s commission. Lucas has worked as a pool technician for several years and has faced medical debt from an emergency room visit and car trouble that left his vehicle inoperable for months.

He plans to use his share to address these expenses, buy a reliable car and establish a savings account, while still hoping to keep searching for cards.

Trevor has supported his brother throughout the experience. Lorusso described the find as an example of the success he envisioned for The Treasure Chest of Mystic, a shop aiming to build a community for collectors.

The Bejeweled Brady Superfractor is slated to headline a Fanatics Collect Premier Auction running from November 5 to November 19.
