DOMO new design hub opening in Querétaro, Digi Mart USA News (Querétaro, Mexico): Querétaro’s Secretary of Culture, Ana Paola López Birlain, inaugurated the new headquarters of DOMO, a design hub described as a space for Mexican creativity and talent. The opening, reported on November 6, 2026, was presented as an open door for creators and a meeting point for new ideas, collaborations and opportunities.
Founded in 2024, DOMO is an independent platform dedicated to exhibiting, promoting and selling contemporary Mexican design. It brings together the work of emerging and established designers, artisans, independent brands and workshops from across Mexico, aiming to create visibility, commercial opportunities and collaboration.
At the event, López Birlain said that every space opening its doors to creators also opens new possibilities for meeting, collaboration and opportunity. She stressed the importance of linking designers, producers and entrepreneurs with universities, companies, institutions and new audiences.
“Here lies the importance of collaboration: understanding that the development of our creative sector does not depend on one person or institution, but on our ability to build community and join efforts. There is also the creative economy; behind every design piece there is an idea, but also knowledge, identity, crafts, workshops, jobs and people who have found in their creativity a way of life,” she said.
The secretary added that spaces like DOMO connect creativity with new development opportunities and strengthen an ecosystem built across many sectors. She noted that places for exchanging ideas, recognizing others’ work and coexisting in diversity also help build a culture of peace.
DOMO founder Roberto Gaitán Alanís, an architect and designer, said the new space is located at number 50 Rodríguez Familiar street, in the Jardines de Querétaro neighborhood. Its mission is to gather contemporary Mexican design proposals through exhibition and sales spaces, as well as training activities and engagement with the creative community.
Gaitán Alanís said that with DOMO Tienda and DOMO Galería, the project begins a new stage of growth after two years of promoting the talent of designers, artisans and creators from different regions of the country. DOMO Tienda features the work of more than 25 Mexican designers and brands, offering decorative and utilitarian objects that bring author design into everyday life.
DOMO Galería is a new space dedicated to contemporary object design. Its first season presents the work of 13 Mexican designers and creators and one visual artist, with signature pieces, furniture and objects distinguished by their proposals, materials and production processes.
Gaitán Alanís said that in its two years, DOMO has presented more than 300 national design pieces, with the participation of more than 75 exhibitors from 18 Mexican states, including 28 from Querétaro who have presented more than 80 locally produced pieces.
Beyond exhibition and sales, he said DOMO has promoted activities to strengthen the creative community and encourage the exchange of knowledge, learning, dialogue and collaboration across creative disciplines.
