Telethon 2026 4 and 5 December, Digi Mart USA News: The Telethon will return to France Télévisions broadcast channels on December 4 and 5, 2026, marking its 40th anniversary edition. The event is described by the publisher as a fixture of solidarity and French television, and organizers are planning a major on-air program to mark the milestone.
The AFM-Téléthon and France Télévisions have chosen singer Patrick Fiori as godfather of the edition. He succeeds previous public figures in carrying the message of the families, researchers and thousands of volunteers mobilized across France in the long-running fight against rare diseases.
Fiori said he was deeply moved and proud to take on the role: “It is with immense emotion and great pride that I become the godfather of the 40th Telethon.” He said he is ready to devote his energy to mobilizing viewers and pushing donations higher.
Over the two days, public service channels will switch to a televised marathon format. The program will include moving testimonies, major scientific advances, challenges and live sharing moments, with numerous personalities, artists and engaged figures who have supported the association for four decades.
Across France, traditional local events, sports challenges and donation pledges are being organized to support research and assist patients. The publisher notes that the broadcast is approaching, with the event expected to be a historic success for its 40th edition.
