US midterm elections reaction in Mexico and the United States, Digi Mart USA News: As the blue wave expanded across the United States, political and business figures viewed the day’s results as a blow to President Donald Trump and his movement, according to a report published by Milenio.

Senator Bernie Sanders, a Democrat, celebrated Democrats’ gains in Congress. “Democrats will now control the House and the Senate and will be able to hold Trump accountable.

That’s great,” he wrote on X, calling for aggressive action on behalf of working families.

Senator Jon Ossoff, who was re-elected in Georgia, interpreted the result as a rejection of Trump. Democrat Chris Pappas in New Hampshire described the vote as a “wake-up call” for the federal government and lawmakers who backed cuts to healthcare and tariffs.

In Texas, Republican Governor Greg Abbott acknowledged his defeat to Gina Hinojosa. In Mexico, Larry Rubin, president of the American Society of Mexico (Amsoc), estimated that the three countries of the USMCA would reach an agreement before the end of the year regardless of the new makeup of Congress.

During an Election Night event organized by Amsoc, Rubin said a Democratic majority could make it harder to approve Trump’s budget and legislative proposals, and he anticipated short-term economic fluctuations following the results.

The Confederation of Customs Agents Associations of the Mexican Republic (Caaarem) said it would continue working to keep the flow of goods moving and provide certainty to sector operations regardless of the electoral outcome. “Mexico is the main trading partner of the United States in goods.

That relationship goes beyond one election, and we must keep strengthening it through dialogue and institutional coordination,” the organization said.

Caaarem acknowledged that political changes may pose new challenges and stated that customs agents would keep working to facilitate the exchange of goods.

At her morning press conference, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Mexico would respect the outcome of the US midterm elections. “We do not express opinions; it is not our place.

We will wait for the election result and will respect it whatever it is; we continue on our path,” she said.
