Marine Tondelier income and public compensation, Digi Mart USA News (France): Marine Tondelier has been a declared presidential candidate since October 22, 2025, yet no asset declaration has been published in her name. The High Authority for Transparency in Public Life (HATVP) will only release one if she obtains the 500 sponsorships required to run.
Her only documented public income comes from her position as a regional councillor in the Hauts-de-France. For the first half of her mandate in 2021, the region paid her 15,432.43 euros in allowances, plus 208.60 euros in expense reimbursements.
That corresponds to roughly 2,600 euros gross per month at the time.
The allowance is indexed to the public-sector gross terminal index, which has risen since 2021 through point-value increases in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Based on the publication’s own calculation, which has not been confirmed by the region’s most recent annual statements, the figure would be about 2,733 euros gross per month today, or nearly 32,800 euros per year.
The point value has been frozen since then, including for 2026 and 2027.
She has led the Ecologists since December 2022, when she was elected national secretary with 90.8% of the vote, and was re-elected leader on April 19, 2025 with 73%. The party does not publish its leaders’ pay, and no established press investigation has revealed it.
Some websites cite salary ranges without supporting documents, and this article does not repeat them.
Her local mandates in Hénin-Beaumont, where she served as an opposition municipal councillor and on the Hénin-Carvin agglomeration council from 2014 to 2026, did not generate any known pay. She does not appear among the councillors elected in the March 2026 municipal vote, which the Interior Ministry reported was won in the first round by mayor Steeve Briois with 77.71% of the vote.
She has never held a parliamentary or national government post and is not subject to the same disclosure obligations as those officials. She receives no parliamentary allowance, unlike a member of the National Assembly.
The minimum wage, or SMIC, stands at 1,867.02 euros gross per month, or 22,404.24 euros per year, since June 1, 2026.
On the primary question, the Ecologists’ members chose her with 86% of the vote in December 2025, but the planned unity primary of the left never took place. The party’s federal council dropped the primary on September 21, and members will vote between December 10 and 13, 2026 on whether to field a Green candidate or back another left-wing contender.
On October 26, 2026, she told France 2 she did not rule out withdrawing if a path to victory existed, subject to agreements on government, programme and legislative races. Polls at that time gave her between 1% and 6% in the first round.
The information was based on public sources, including the regional annual allowance statement, official reports and press coverage. The article notes that such figures may be approximate or outdated and are not a certified accounting or legal assessment.
