France mild November weather forecast with temperatures above 20 °C, Digi Mart USA News (France): France is set to enjoy a near-spring mildness in the coming days. Behind these pleasant temperatures, however, forecasts point to some surprises.
After cold weather settled in at the beginning of November, many expected autumn to slide gently into winter and heating to be running at full capacity. Instead, an unexpectedly mild spell for the season is taking hold across France.
In some regions, the thermometer is expected to reach more than 20 °C, a sensation almost like spring.
The first signs should appear as early as Sunday, November 8, but the warmth will become more pronounced from Tuesday. According to Météo-France forecasts, the thermometer could climb to 22 °C in the Southwest, with peaks of 20 °C along part of the Atlantic coast.
Elsewhere, temperatures will often reach 16 to 18 °C in the Centre and up to 15 or 16 °C in some northern regions.
The mildness is expected to continue in the following days with varying intensity, offering particularly pleasant temperatures for a November month.
The problem is that this exceptional warm spell is also expected to bring the return of rain, sometimes in significant amounts. After a fairly dry period in many regions, Atlantic weather systems could regain the upper hand.
The sky may therefore become overcast, with increasingly frequent rainy spells. Some regions could even experience sustained precipitation, particularly near the Mediterranean, where a new episode of heavy rain cannot be ruled out.
How can such mildness be explained as winter approaches? In reality, it depends on wind direction.
This time, air coming from the south, particularly from North Africa, is expected to move up toward France. This is why temperatures can rise several degrees within a few days, despite increasingly short days.
Even if the 22 °C forecast for the Southwest may surprise in November, a change in wind direction would be enough to send temperatures back down and bring more wintry weather.
Current trends nonetheless point to temperatures generally above seasonal norms for much of November. The weather, however, could remain changeable, alternating calmer periods with new disturbances.
