US limited strikes on Iran, Digi Mart USA News: The United States has carried out new “limited” attacks against Iran, President Donald Trump said overnight into Saturday. “They had built a small air defense device and we knocked it out in about 15 minutes, maybe five minutes,” the president told reporters.
Trump did not say where the attacks took place. However, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, the Iranian island of Qeshm was struck by at least two missiles late Friday evening, as reported by Al Jazeera.
Trump described the attacks to reporters as “limited.” Earlier in the week, Qeshm was also attacked, along with a handful of other targets in the area around the Strait of Hormuz. On that occasion too, Trump described the attacks as smaller and aimed at air defense facilities.
The US government has several times this fall suggested that renewed attacks on Iran could begin after this week’s midterm elections in the United States.
From the Iranian side, the message is that the country’s military is on alert and is “stronger” now than when the war began in February. Spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia claimed that Iran’s armed forces have learned from the war and now have “greater motivation, commitment and confidence” than at the start of the conflict, IRNA reported overnight into Saturday.
