FDJ Loto rule changes effective October 4, 2027, Digi Mart USA News: The Française des Jeux (FDJ) will change the rules of its Loto draws starting October 4, 2027, following a decision by the Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ), France’s National Gaming Authority, issued on October 15, 2026, at the operator’s request. The changes affect both pricing and the mechanism used to redistribute the jackpot.
Under the new rules, the price of a standard Loto grid will rise from 2.20 euros to 2.30 euros. The guaranteed minimum prize will be increased from 2.20 euros to 3 euros, which is 70 cents more than the minimum unit stake, according to the text reported by Le Parisien.
The jackpot redistribution mechanism, known as the “roll down,” will also change significantly. Until now, when no player matched the five winning numbers and the Chance number, the jackpot rolled over to the next draw and could build for several weeks.
A redistribution was triggered only after 34 consecutive draws without a winner.
From October 4, 2027, that threshold will be sharply reduced from 34 to 11 consecutive draws. If no one wins the jackpot after 11 consecutive draws, it will be distributed among the winners of the eleventh draw.
The jackpot will therefore have less time to grow, but players will be able to receive a share of it sooner.
The share of stakes returned to winners will remain unchanged at 54.35 percent for classic Loto. The complementary games offered by the operator will also be maintained.
The new provisions will apply to grids played both at physical points of sale and online, the Française des Jeux said.
