The French side led 15-13 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to secure the win.
Romania opened the scoring through Andrei Buzle, who scored three goals in the first ten minutes. Élohim Prandi equalized at 5-5 with his 200th goal in a French shirt, and Dika Mem later scored four goals in the first half to give France the lead.
France struggled with imprecision and some defensive gaps during the first period, and Romanian captain Ionut Iancu made five saves. After the break, France built a significant lead, reaching 27-19 before Romania closed some of the gap late in the match.
Coach Talant Dujshebaev said he was pleased that his players showed respect for opponents for the full 60 minutes. He noted that the team has not yet reached its best level and that fatigue after intensive training affected its finishing.
Nedim Rémili said the players are still adapting to the new coach’s system and demands. He described the result as a positive step in the team’s development.
