World of Warcraft: Forever launch and Twitch Stream Recaps, Digi Mart USA News: World of Warcraft: Forever launches at 3:00 p.m. PST today, and every player starts from level 1.
The expansion returns to the original continents and the long road to level 60, and this time players can roll a Skyborne and begin their story on Zephras Isle.
The publisher describes familiar roads, new surprises and an Azeroth that continues to grow after players reach the level cap. To celebrate, Twitch is running a week of World of Warcraft: Forever content with a new way to catch up on streams and earn rewards.
Starting this week, category pages on the Twitch website will feature Stream Recaps shelves pinned above live channels. Viewers browsing the World of Warcraft category can watch short recaps of the first Skyborne runs, dungeon wipes and other highlights in a few minutes.
A Stream Recap is a short highlight reel built from clips made by streamers, their editors and their viewers. The new shelf gathers recaps from streams in the World of Warcraft: Forever category, letting viewers discover streamers beyond those they already follow.
World of Warcraft is the first category to receive Stream Recaps, and every other Twitch category will get them later this week. Stream Recaps are generated automatically from a stream’s clips, but streamers can customize them.
Twitch also introduced the WoW: Forever Armory Twitch Extension, which displays a streamer’s abilities, build and equipment on their channel. Viewers can see how each player is progressing and use that information to plan their own journey through Azeroth.
Streamers can add the extension from their Creator Dashboard before their next stream.
Viewers can also subscribe to or gift subscriptions to a favorite World of Warcraft streamer to receive Horde and Alliance chat badges. The publisher also noted a special stream currently airing on the official World of Warcraft channel, which may include a major reveal.
The publisher invited streamers to go live in World of Warcraft: Forever and add Stream Recaps to be featured on the category page.
