World of Warcraft: Forever launch, Digi Mart USA News: World of Warcraft: Forever launches at 3:00 p.m. PST today, and everyone is starting from level 1.
Players return to the original continents and the long road to level 60, and this time they can create a Skyborne character and begin their story on Zephras Isle.
The publisher describes familiar roads, new surprises and an Azeroth that continues to grow after players reach the level cap. To celebrate the launch, Twitch is running a week of WoW: Forever programming with a new way to catch stream moments and earn rewards.
Starting this week, category pages on the Twitch website will feature Stream Recaps shelves, which show short recaps from recent streams pinned above the live channels. Viewers who open the World of Warcraft category can watch the first Skyborne runs, dungeon wipes and other widely clipped moments in a few minutes.
A Stream Recap is a short highlight reel of a stream, built from clips made by the streamer, their editors and their viewers. The new shelf brings together recaps from streams in the World of Warcraft: Forever category, allowing viewers to discover streamers beyond the ones they follow.
World of Warcraft is the first category to receive Recaps, and every other Twitch category will receive them later this week. Stream Recaps are built automatically from a stream’s clips, but streamers can customize them.
The new WoW: Forever Armory Twitch Extension displays a streamer’s abilities, build and equipment directly on their channel, letting viewers see how they are playing and plan their own journeys through Azeroth. Streamers can add it from their Creator Dashboard before their next stream.
Viewers can show support by subscribing to or gifting a sub to a favorite World of Warcraft streamer to receive Horde and Alliance chat badges. The publisher also noted a special stream currently airing on /warcraft, which it said may include an upcoming major reveal.
The publisher encourages streamers to go live in World of Warcraft: Forever and add Stream Recaps to be featured on the category page.
