Anisha Jo Star Academy first album Lumière success response, Digi Mart USA News (France): Anisha Jo, winner of the tenth season of Star Academy in November 2022, saw her life change within a few months. A year later, the singer discovered on TF1 released her first album, Lumière, after long hours of studio work while continuing her studies in management and digital.

As she prepares to return to the Star Academy set on November 6, a question keeps coming up: is Anisha Jo disappointed by this first record? The album did not achieve the hoped-for success in stores, and many wonder whether she is disappointed.

The artist answered directly, expressing a different relationship to the word “success” and a strong phrase that has become her mantra: “My success was surpassing myself.”

Following her victory, Anisha Jo signed an album contract and recorded Lumière, a pop-folk project carried notably by the tracks “Tu rayonnes” and “Automne.” Released in November 2023, the debut was meant to build on the momentum of Star Academy. Shortly afterward, several media outlets described it as a commercial failure, citing sales limited to a few thousand copies, far below the figures traditionally associated with reality-competition winners.

Asked about this mixed record, the singer declined to be defined by numbers. “Many translate success into numbers.

For me, if my music touches one or two people, my mission is accomplished. My success was surpassing myself and creating this album.

Yes, I am thinking about what comes next; I am still writing and composing. The new album will come out in due time,” she told Ici Paris.

Another recurring criticism since the release of Lumière is that Anisha Jo has been less promoted than other Star Academy winners. She dismissed the idea without resentment.

“No. And I don’t think we should compare.

Everyone follows their own path. I am very happy with my trajectory and that of others.

What matters is the work done behind the scenes to keep doing what we love,” she said.

Rather than chasing sales figures, the young woman is multiplying stage projects. She will take part in the show 500 voix pour Johnny, a tribute to Johnny Hallyday, which she describes as a “new challenge.” Looking ahead, Anisha Jo remains faithful to the spirit of Lumière: “I want to continue sharing my art and bringing, on my own scale, a little light and love through my voice.”
