Vitória vs Fluminense lineup, Digi Mart USA News: Vitória and Fluminense meet this Friday, November 6, at 8 p.m. Brasília time at the Barradão in a Brazilian Série A match for Round 34 of the competition.
The two clubs are in very different situations in the standings. Fluminense continues to chase a direct place in the group stage of the 2027 Copa Libertadores.
Fluminense currently sits in fourth place with 54 points. A win would not change its position, but it would open a three-point gap over Athletico-PR, which lost to Vasco last Wednesday.
Vitória, meanwhile, has gone four matches without a positive result, a slump that led to the dismissal of coach Jair Ventura. The club is 15th with 38 points, just one point clear of the relegation zone.
For tonight’s match, Vitória will be led by interim coach Cleber dos Santos, a member of the club’s permanent coaching staff. Luan Cândido and Jamerson, both of whom served suspensions in the defeat to Coritiba, return and are available.
The expected starting lineup is Lucas Arcanjo; Mateus Silva, Cacá, Luan Cândido and Jamerson; Baralhas, Martínez and Matheuzinho; Erick, Diego Tarzia and Renê. Mateus Silva, who has recovered from a ligament injury, is expected to return to the squad.
Midfielder Baralhas could start for the first time after nearly three months out with a physical problem.
Matheuzinho is expected to regain his place in the starting XI after beginning the match against Coritiba on the bench. Cleber dos Santos will not have Brítez, who is suspended.
Dudu, Nathan Mendes, Ramon and Fabiano Souza are injured and will also miss the match.
