During their second full season under head coach B.J. Callaghan, Nashville set a heap of league records en route to their first-ever Supporters’ Shield title and the points record.

As Supporters’ Shield winners, they have hosting priority through MLS Cup presented by Audi, should they reach the Dec. 18 final.

Nashville will face the Eastern Conference Wild Card winner, either Orlando City or FC Cincinnati, in Round One of the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs. The club’s record-setting season has also secured them a spot in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Nashville feature one of the league’s deepest rosters, highlighted by the Designated Player trio of captain Hany Mukhtar (17 goals, 8 assists), striker Sam Surridge (21 goals, 2 assists) and winger Cristian Espinoza (4 goals, 15 assists). Midfielder Matthew Corcoran and midfielder Patrick Yazbek are other key pieces of Callaghan’s squad, along with FIFA 2026 World Cup veteran Ahmed Qasem of Iraq.

The team also boasts the best defense in MLS, allowing a league-low 25 goals. United States international Brian Schwake led all goalkeepers with a joint-league-record 16 clean sheets, while Maxwell Woledzi and Jeisson Palacios form an elite center-back pairing.

Andy Nájar was named an MLS All-Star in 2026, and fellow fullback Reed Baker-Whiting earned his first USMNT call-up ahead of this month’s Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals.

The Coyotes are coming off a best-ever CCC campaign in 2026, reaching the tournament semifinals. They became the first MLS team to win at Mexico’s legendary Estadio Azteca, stunning LIGA MX powerhouse Club América, 1-0, in the quarterfinals.
