Spartanburg shooting arrest, Digi Mart USA News (Spartanburg, South Carolina): The Spartanburg Police Department reports that a woman has been arrested after a man was hospitalized following a shooting early Friday morning.
Kristal P. Daniels, 40, is facing charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Officers said they were parked on the emergency room parking deck at Spartanburg Regional Hospital when they saw a man walking into the ER with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, accompanied by a woman.
The victim told police the shooting occurred in the 700 block of Crescent Avenue around 2:30 a.m. He said he had been walking from Prince Hall Apartments toward Rocket Laundry on South Church Street when he noticed a dark sedan with tinted windows, possibly a Honda Accord.
He then heard someone yell, “That’s him,” followed by three gunshots, before he ran toward a wooded area at Irwin Park to hide and call for help.
Police said the man had been shot in the upper left shoulder area and the left side of his shoulder.
Officers later interviewed the victim and found that his previous accounts were untrue, but he then revealed the actual location of the incident.
Police responded to Charlie Mae Campbell Lane and spoke with a person of interest. Officers discovered evidence of a crime scene, and a K9 team searched a nearby wooded area.
The suspected weapon was found, according to officials.
Daniels was taken to the Spartanburg County Detention Center. FOX Carolina says it is working to learn more.
