Singapore to End Haze Measures by November 7 as Air Quality Improves

Singapore haze measures end November 2026: Singapore Haze Measures End November 2026: Most of Singapore's haze measures will end by November 7, including mask distribution and haze shelters, as the risk of transboundary haze is expected to be low with inter-monsoon conditions and more rain. The haze subsidy scheme will cease from November 12, according to the National Environment Agency.

Singapore haze measures end November 2026, Digi Mart USA News (Singapore): By November 7, most of Singapore’s haze measures will end, including the distribution of masks and the operation of haze shelters. The National Environment Agency (NEA) said the risk of transboundary haze reaching the country is expected to be low as inter-monsoon conditions and more rain set in.

The haze subsidy scheme will cease from November 12, the NEA said on November 5. The NEA’s daily 24-hour PSI (Pollutant Standards Index) forecast, which has been issued every evening for over two months, will also end on November 7.

The distribution of haze masks will conclude at 6pm on November 7. At the same time, air-conditioned rooms at community clubs and selected Residents’ Committee (RC) and Residents’ Network (RN) Centres serving as haze shelters will close.

The 28-agency haze task force will also be stood down.

As of October 29, close to 30% of eligible Singaporeans, including seniors aged 60 and above, pregnant women and children, had collected masks from vending machines, community clubs and other points. Mask distribution and the opening of haze shelters in community clubs began on October 14, after PM2.5 levels, the dominant pollutant during haze, surged to very high levels in the western region.

Haze shelters were also set up in integrated community hubs, as well as RC and RN Centres.

November 11 is the last day for patients to see a doctor under the haze subsidy scheme, which was activated on October 12. As of October 31, over 100,000 visits were recorded at GP clinics participating in the scheme, and more than 60,000 visits were logged at polyclinics, the Ministry of Health said in a separate statement on November 5.

Under the scheme, eligible Singapore citizens pay no more than S$10 for treatment of haze-related ailments at more than 1,300 private general practitioner clinics and polyclinics.

With the improvement in air quality, the Ministry of Manpower will also stand down its haze-related measures for outdoor workers from November 7. “Employers may resume outdoor work without the additional haze-related precautions,” the NEA said.

Singapore has experienced more than seven weeks of haze in 2026, starting September 4, when air quality first entered the unhealthy range. Bouts of haze continued until air quality improved from around October 26.

On October 29, the weatherman said changing wind conditions from the onset of the inter-monsoon would likely lower the risk of transboundary haze. The inter-monsoon period is characterized by lighter, more variable winds.

Inter-monsoon conditions have progressively set in over Singapore and the surrounding region as the south-west monsoon weakens. That monsoon season, characterized by winds blowing from the south, had pushed pollution from fires in Indonesia to Singapore over the past two months.

The PSI forecast for November 6 is expected to be in the moderate range of 51 to 80, and showers and variable winds should keep the haze suppressed through the weekend, the NEA said.

Fires are still burning in Indonesia, however. The ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre’s website showed hot spots in Kalimantan and Sumatra on November 5 after 5pm, and moderate to dense smoke haze was observed over the southern parts of Kalimantan.
