Vasiliy Lomachenko comeback 2027, Digi Mart USA News: Vasiliy Lomachenko says his manager, Egis Klimas, kept working toward his return to the ring even after the Ukrainian considered his career finished. Lomachenko has reversed his June 2025 retirement and will fight again in early 2027.
Klimas said he was happy that Lomachenko decided to return. “He still has unfinished business and a dream that means so much to him: becoming the undisputed champion,” Klimas said.
Lomachenko credited his manager with doing the work needed to restart his career, despite his own belief that he would not box again. “He put in a tremendous amount of work and effort to get us back in the race,” Lomachenko said.
For Klimas, the comeback gives his fighter another chance to pursue a championship that eluded him at lightweight. “I’ve never stopped believing in him, and I’m proud to stand beside him as he gives to that dream everything he has, and I strongly believe his comeback will bring tremendous joy to his team and, most of all, to his fans,” Klimas said.
Lomachenko returns with his own promotional company, Loma Power Promotions, which has signed a multi-year co-promotional agreement with Top Rank. Top Rank has promoted him since his professional debut in 2013.
The agreement adds a new role for the former three-division champion as he prepares to campaign at super featherweight. Top Rank chairman Bob Arum said, “Vasiliy is one of the most gifted fighters I’ve ever promoted, and I’m delighted he’s returning to the ring.”
Arum pointed to the depth at 130 pounds as a draw for the returning champion. “There’s tremendous talent at super featherweight, and we’re looking forward to working with Loma Power Promotions to put on some terrific fights,” he said.
Lomachenko brings an 18-3 record with 12 knockouts into the comeback. He won professional titles at featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight after collecting two Olympic gold medals.
His previous attempt to become undisputed ended in defeat to Devin Haney in May 2023. A year later, he stopped George Kambosos Jr.
to capture the IBF lightweight belt before retiring as champion.
The next fight remains unnamed. Top Rank has set an early-2027 return at 130 pounds without announcing an opponent or broadcaster.
