Padel voor Parkinson fundraiser Zwolle, Digi Mart USA News (Zwolle, Netherlands): Zwolle is once again taking part in the nationwide charity event ‘Padel voor Parkinson.’ On Saturday, November 7, more than 2,000 players spread across 20 Dutch cities will pick up their rackets at the same time to raise money for Parkinson’s research.

The Zwolle venue is padel club Peakz. The event is open to players of all levels, from beginners to advanced.

Registration is available through padelvoorparkinson.nl.

The local edition has a personal dimension. Eric Beerda, a padel player from the region, was himself diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

Rather than sit still, he channeled his passion for the sport into the event. He is now a member of the national core team of Padel voor Parkinson and is leading the organization of the second Zwolle edition.

“A diagnosis turns your life upside down, but on the padel court I experience how important movement, focus and social connection are,” Beerda says. “As a member of the national team, I see the enormous impact we can make together in all the cities.

That we again have our own venue at Peakz in Zwolle, where we can directly contribute to research and awareness of Parkinson’s, makes me extremely proud. We hope for a strong turnout of Zwolle players and generous sponsors so that together we can make a real difference.”

Parkinson’s is currently the fastest-growing neurological disorder in the world. With this event, the organization aims to far exceed the more than 200,000 euros in donations raised so far.

All proceeds and sponsorship income will go directly to fundamental research.

National partners support the initiative. Regional businesses such as Craft and Aktieshirt.nl also support this year’s edition.

Each participant receives a PadelvoorParkinson sports shirt valued at 29.95 euros.

In addition to Zwolle, Zutphen is also a regional venue this year. Residents, businesses and padel enthusiasts from Zwolle and surrounding areas can take part as a player, sponsor a team or make a direct donation.

Registration is available through padelvoorparkinson.nl.
