KATSEYE United Center Chicago concert postponed, Digi Mart USA News (Chicago): Mega-famous K-pop girl group KATSEYE postponed their Thursday night concert at Chicago’s United Center hours before they were set to take the stage because one of the group’s members is ill, according to a statement from the venue.
“We’re sorry to share that tonight’s KATSEYE show at the United Center has been postponed due to Megan’s illness. Please do not travel to the venue, as doors will not open for tonight’s show.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” United Center said in a social media post.
The group has amassed an international following and almost 10 million followers on Instagram alone. It is made up of six members: Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeung.
The group has been performing as a quartet in recent months as Laforteza and Bannerman have both taken temporary breaks to focus on their health.
United Center advised would-be attendees to hold onto their tickets. “They’ll be valid for the new date, which we’ll announce soon.
VIP packages, including soundcheck upgrades, will carry over too. If you can’t make the new date, refunds will be available to your original payment method.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the postponement announcement stated.
The cancellation comes in the wake of backlash from fans after their sold-out performance in Detroit was postponed just a half-hour in advance because Skiendiel was unwell and needed time to recover, according to E! News.
The group’s show in Minneapolis, scheduled for Nov. 7, was also canceled on Thursday because of Skiendiel’s illness, according to a social media post from Target Center with an almost parallel statement to the post by the United Center.
