TreVeyon Henderson medical emergency, Digi Mart USA News: New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson was recently hospitalized after what he described as an unexpected and unusual medical emergency.
In a statement released Friday, Henderson said he was hospitalized for several days after experiencing neurological symptoms. He said comprehensive medical testing returned results that were positive and reassuring, although the root cause of the issue is unknown and unexplainable.
Henderson said his symptoms have affected his strength, coordination and some of his physical functions. There is no indication of when he might return to football activities.
The Patriots’ official injury report listed Henderson as did not practice in their first two sessions this week, on Wednesday and Thursday, due to an illness. He also missed their last two practices heading into Week 8 for the same reason.
Head coach Mike Vrabel did not provide much insight into the situation after Henderson appeared on the injury report last week.
After missing Week 1 with an ankle injury, Henderson appeared in six straight games for the Patriots. His usage declined in his final three games, when he played a total of 41 offensive snaps.
A second-round pick in the 2025 draft, Henderson led the Patriots in rushing attempts (180), rushing yards (911) and rushing touchdowns (nine). He helped New England win the AFC East for the first time since 2019 and reach the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2018 season.
New England has won four of its last five games and will host the Green Bay Packers at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
