TotalEnergies cycling team secures new sponsor for 2027 season, Digi Mart USA News: The French cycling team TotalEnergies will apparently remain part of the professional peloton next season, after it was reported that it had found a new main sponsor. Ouest-France reported on Friday that Jean-René Bernaudeau has signed a three-year contract with a sponsor that will allow the Vendée-based squad to continue.

The team had been set to disappear at the end of the season after failing to find a new principal partner to keep its place in the peloton. According to the publisher’s account, the club’s leaders, including Bernaudeau and Stéphane Heulot, fought to avoid that outcome and were rewarded.

According to Ouest-France, the team has found the major sponsor it needed to continue. The sponsor’s name has not been disclosed, but the outlet reports that a three-year contract has been signed and that the sponsor will be announced on Monday.

From 2027, the team is expected to take the name of its new sponsor rather than TotalEnergies, which it has used since June 2021. The squad has been in the peloton for twenty-six years and has taken part in the Tour de France since its creation in 2000.

Ten riders will leave the team in the off-season, including Anthony Turgis, Nicolas Breuillard, Jordan Jegat, Émilien Jeannière, Alexandre Delettre, Mathieu Burgaudeau, Thomas Bonnet, Mattéo Vercher, Pierre Thierry and Sandy Dujardin. The team intends to keep competing at the ProTeam level, the second professional tier, and to be invited to the Tour de France again.

Bernaudeau would like to build a squad of 25 riders. The publisher also says that Enzo Paleni, Simon Dehairs and Maximilian Schachmann could possibly join the team, though this has not been confirmed.
