Germany’s longtime top biathlete Franziska Preuß is looking forward to becoming a mother. The two-time world champion and overall World Cup winner from 2025 announced on Sunday evening via Instagram that she and her partner Simon Schempp are expecting their first child together.
“The anticipation could not be greater!” wrote the 32-year-old, who ended her career after the Olympic Games last winter. The child is expected in February, as the attached hashtag “#februarbaby” suggests.
