AJ Dybantsa NBA Rookie of the Year rankings, Digi Mart USA News: Washington Wizards forward AJ Dybantsa has been ranked No. 5 in NBA Rookie of the Year rankings this week by NBA.com’s Jeff Zilligitt. Memphis Grizzlies forward Cameron Boozer holds the No. 1 spot, but he has played the entire season so far.
Dybantsa, by contrast, missed the first four games of the season, so he begins the race behind. He missed Washington’s first four games with a sprained left ankle and has fit in well since making his debut on October 28.
Zilligitt wrote that Dybantsa has scored at least 17 points in each of his three games and has found his spots to score alongside a group that includes Anthony Davis and Trae Young. So far, Dybantsa is averaging 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Zilligitt said that production is encouraging given that Dybantsa is part of a big trio with Davis and Young. He added that the rankings will be worth watching as the Wizards continue their season.
