Separately, the latest FIX exchange rate available on the Banco de México portal corresponds to Friday, October 30, and is 18.7962 pesos. The publisher notes that these are distinct references and should not be presented as the same quotation.
The FIX is determined by Banxico on business days using an average of wholesale market quotations for operations settling on the second following banking business day. Banxico makes it public starting at 12:00 hours and publishes it in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on the next banking business day.
Checking the dollar early in the day therefore does not mean a new FIX for that day already exists.
The official portal still shows 18.7962 pesos dated October 30, so that figure should not be described as the FIX determined today.
