Kekala personalized popsicle expansion in Puebla and Mexico, Digi Mart USA News (Puebla, Mexico): Kekala, a brand of customizable popsicles, will expand its presence in Puebla with the opening of three stores and aims to close 2026 with 50 points of sale in Mexico, more than double the 22 locations it operated at the time of the announcement.
The plan includes a store in Angelópolis, whose opening was scheduled for October, and two more in Plaza Dorada and Explanada, scheduled for November. With these additions, the company seeks to reach six points of sale in the state.
The expansion also strengthens the brand’s presence in Puebla, where its production plant is located in San Pablo Ahuatempa, in the municipality of Santa Isabel Cholula.
Enrique Chargoy, CEO of Kekala México, said: “We are very happy to open here. We know how important Puebla is to our national expansion, and we plan to open six points in the state.
In addition, Puebla is home to our factory, so we are at home.”
The company entered the Mexican market through Grupo Lagred, with an investment of more than five million dollars. According to information provided by the company, it put 22 franchises into operation in the country within eight months.
Reaching 50 points of sale by the end of 2026 would mean adding 28 establishments to its current network, an approximate growth of 127% from the 22 locations reported.
The brand’s business model is based on popsicle customization: each consumer can create their own combination, an experience the company presents as a differentiated offering within the market.
This concept also underpins its franchise model, through which it has a presence in Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador and Mexico.
“We are betting heavily on the brand’s national expansion, with points of sale from Tijuana to Mérida. This is just the beginning,” Chargoy added.
Kekala’s plant in San Pablo Ahuatempa, Santa Isabel Cholula, was inaugurated in February 2026, according to corporate information. Its location makes Puebla a relevant point for the company’s operations in Mexico.
During its launch in the country, the company closed the sale of 74 franchises in one week, according to its own data, reflecting the commercial interest it seeks to capitalize on through new openings.
Internationally, Kekala reports more than 250 points of sale, a workforce of more than 750 employees and approximate sales of 1.2 million popsicles per month.
With the new Puebla stores and its goal of reaching 50 locations in Mexico, the company seeks to consolidate its growth in the domestic market and expand the reach of its franchise model.
