Officers from sector 3 spotted the animals on the road during a night crime-prevention patrol and immediately deployed units to follow them and prevent accidents involving motorists. In a separate incident in Colonia Luis Donaldo Colosio, a sector 1 officer received a neighborhood report about a dog trapped in a canal. The officer went to the scene and confirmed the dog was clinging to the edge but could not climb out.
The officer tied a rope to his patrol car, climbed down to free the dog and brought it to higher ground, where it was released safely.
