Saint-Pierre and Miquelon Budget Implications, Digi Mart USA News (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon): On Sunday, November 8 at 12:40 p.m., after the local news broadcast, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon’s public broadcaster, La 1ère, will launch L’entretien, a new filmed radio program presented by Martine Briand. The first guest is Stéphane Lenormand, deputy for Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, who will explain France’s budget choices and their possible consequences for the archipelago.
Behind the figures and parliamentary debates, the program says concrete questions arise for the territory and its residents, including public services, health, pensions, and support for the economy and local projects. In a tense political and budgetary context, Briand will ask Lenormand about the priorities of the draft finance bill (PLF) and the draft social security financing bill (PLFSS), including what trade-offs are being made and what repercussions may follow for Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
The program is designed as a 30-minute one-on-one discussion intended to explore the subject in depth and make complex issues accessible so that listeners can form their own opinions. It is presented as a new program aimed at clarifying current events.
Lenormand engaged with Archipel Demain and chaired the territorial council of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon from 2017 to 2020. He was elected deputy for the archipelago in 2022 and re-elected in 2024.
He sits in the Liberties, Independents, Overseas and Territories (LIOT) group, which he chaired from July 2024 to February 2025.
