Romain Ntamack injury update after France vs Fiji, Digi Mart USA News (Lyon, France): France head coach Fabien Galthié has provided an update on Romain Ntamack after the fly-half was forced off during Friday’s match against Fiji at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon.

Ntamack, who plays for Stade Toulousain, was replaced by Maxime Lucu about five minutes before halftime. He left the pitch grimacing and holding his shoulder, visibly in pain.

Speaking after the break, Galthié said he believes the injury is a dislocation, though more detailed examinations will be needed to confirm the diagnosis. “I feel very sorry for Romain.

I think it’s a dislocation,” he said.

“I am very sad for him, and I am thinking of him first,” Galthié added. He noted that he knows better than anyone the various injuries that have kept Ntamack away from the national team in recent years.

Ntamack has already been ruled out of the next match, against South Africa next Friday. Whether he can return before the end of the year remains unclear and will depend on further medical assessment.
