Blade uncut FSK-18 TV broadcast on RTL, Digi Mart USA News: In the era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is hard to imagine that some Marvel films were once placed on the index. A cult hit from earlier years that has since received an FSK rating of 18 can be seen on television today.

We can give a wholehearted recommendation. RTL is showing “Blade” today, November 7, from 11:10 p.m., and very likely in the completely uncut FSK-18 version.

The vampire cult film starring Wesley Snipes once landed on the index in its uncut version, but it has since been approved for 18 years and up, so it may be shown in full length after 11 p.m.

Numerous alternative viewing options are also available. The film can be streamed for a small fee, including on Amazon Prime Video, and is now also available on 4K Blu-ray.

Viewers who want the full experience can also buy the entire trilogy featuring Wesley Snipes for a modest price.

Cuts for the 16-rated version were reportedly substantial, which took away much of the film’s punch. When vampires, humans and half-breeds clash in the underworld, the violence is accordingly bloody.

“Blade II,” directed by Guillermo del Toro, is also worth watching, so the three-film Blu-ray set is absolutely worthwhile, although “Blade: Trinity” cannot quite maintain the level in the end.

In “Blade,” effects specialist Stephen Norrington, who ended his directing career with the 2003 flop “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,” tells the story of Eric Brooks (Wesley Snipes), who is born a half-blood. His mother was bitten by a vampire shortly before his birth and died as a result.

Thirsting for revenge, the so-called “Daywalker” roams the land to take vengeance on creatures of the night and ultimately comes up against the power-hungry Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff).

“Blade” recalls the comic-book cinema of earlier years, when superheroes on screen were still rarities and not confined to a corset designed to reach the broadest possible audience. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe, aimed at younger viewers, became a cinematic phenomenon, the dark and brutal vampire film still enjoys cult status today.
